For Immediate Release
Fredericton, NB, 7 May 2020

Yesterday, chambers of commerce from across New Brunswick launched a re-opening & recovery guide for businesses and organizations across the province. This document is aimed at summarizing guidance information that has been provided by the Government of New Brunswick as it relates to reopening the economy over the coming days and weeks.

“Businesses in the province require a clear direction of what is mandatory and what is suggested by governments in order for them to get back to doing business.” said John Wishart, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton. “This guide will help them on the road to recovery.”

The guide provides details on requirements mandated by government including; Operational Plans, COVID-19 Awareness (signage), Pre-Screening Tools, Physical Distancing, Cleaning and Disinfection Procedures, Personal Hygiene Etiquette, PPE and Sector-Specific Guidance.

“Businesses in New Brunswick are facing a number of unprecedented external and internal pressures on their operations.” David Duplisea, CEO of The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce” As this pandemic continues, many businesses are finding it more and more difficult to absorb fixed costs as revenues have been hit dramatically. Hence it has never been more importance that businesses get back to doing business” adds Duplisea

“Businesses across New Brunswick are looking forward to getting back to doing what they do best – serving their customers and clients.” added Krista Ross, CEO of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce. “They also want to make sure that they are operating safely and following the Public Health advice that has been so successful at fighting COVID-19 in our province.”
