FREDERICTON, NB – The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for its 2018 Business Excellence Awards.
Each year, the awards selection committee is chaired by the chamber’s immediate past president and includes members from the local business community as well as other stakeholders. The 2018 chair is Chamber Past President Keir Clark of Scotia Wealth Management.
“The Business Excellence Awards are a real highlight on the chamber event calendar,” said Clark. “It is a chance for local business to celebrate our individual and collective successes as well as an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day grind and appreciate what we have to offer as a community.”
In addition to the finalists in the seven categories below, the awards selection committee has chosen Hotspot Parking as the 2018 recipient of the Spacek, Armstrong and Norrad Chartered Professional Accountants Resilience Award. This award recognizes a business that has overcome a major challenge that was not exclusively financial in nature.
“Anyone I know that has used the Hotspot Parking app is instantly a big fan and Phillip and his team have been a big part of the local business community since its launch in 2013,” said Krista Ross, Fredericton chamber CEO. “They experienced what a lot a successful fledgling businesses do – that managing growth can be as difficult as starting in the first place. This actually sinks many companies that are doing well, so it is wonderful to see Hotspot successfully navigate that period successfully and I look forward to using the app for years to come.”
