Greener Village started as The Fredericton Food Bank in 1983, becoming one of the first food charities in the Greater Fredericton Area. In 2012, the Fredericton Food Bank made the transition to our new building. With the space now available, we developed a Learning Kitchen, Community Gardens and the Unique Boutique.
Our vision is to provide emergency access to high-quality food in a dignified setting that promotes choice and self-esteem. Servicing the Greater Fredericton Area, we provide emergency food relief to more than 1,200 families a month, approximately 3,500 people, 32% of which are children.
We offer:
Healthier food choices in our food hampers
Cooking workshops in our Learning Kitchen
Gardens and greenhouses to provide organic produce
Community education about food insecurity, poverty, and agriculture.
