2022 Chamber College: How-to Tips for the Reluctant Manager with Porter O'Brien Agency

This session is meant for the person who finds themself in the position of managing people with little to no training. Many staff members that find themselves in leadership positions have been promoted to that level because they have a very highly developed skill set in their particular field. We see this most prominently in technical industries- software development, engineering, accounting, etc. These people are outstanding at what they have been trained to do, but are now being asked to manage people, which is not what they were prepared for. This session will focus on how to get out of your own way, embrace your discomfort, build collaboration, and grow your team both personally and professionally.
